Szymon Gruchalski
Szymon Gruchalski – I have been working as a photographer at cycling races for nearly 15 years. I work with photo agencies (CorVos, Sprint Cycling, Getty Images) as well as with teams directly, I also do commercial projects. I also worked at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games documenting the performances of the Polish athletes across the world.
“I have always loved sports. Before I graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Poznan, majoring in coaching, specialty – cycling, I raced as a teenager, for a good few years, on an MTB bike. Then I worked as a trainer in a cycling club and a physical education teacher for nearly 15 years. During this time, the camera was always close to me. Cycling photography was therefore a natural choice. Today I travel a lot, explore, try, taste, talk a lot. I swim, ride, downhill and run all the time. Sometimes I teach photography and continue to learn, show and peep myself. I love ice cream, sipping coffee and cava, exposing my face to the sun, especially in the season when I live in Spain. I am invariably fascinated by the world around me, so I can safely say that each of my photos tells more about me than cycling. I go my way, looking ahead, sometimes just stopping to take a good look around.”
